Everyday independence in the toddler years
For ages 18 months–3 years, meaningful learning often looks like an ordinary task done with growing control. The toddler environment connects care, language, movement, and practical activity so children can participate more fully in their own day.
Real tasks with a clear purpose
Carrying a small tray, transferring objects, putting materials back, and helping with a simple cleanup involve coordination and a sequence of steps. Repetition matters: trying the same task again helps a toddler build control and confidence. Adults offer patient guidance and choices suited to the child’s stage.
Language and learning with others
Naming objects, hearing stories, joining songs, and using words during everyday routines build communication. Sharing a classroom also brings practice waiting, asking for help, and respecting another child’s space. Teachers guide these moments; toddlers do not need to arrive with those skills already mastered.
Rest, self-care, and toilet learning
Discuss your child’s current rest, diapering or toilet-learning routines, and ability to manage clothing. Ask how the classroom coordinates with home and which expectations apply to the placement offered. Toilet learning and the next classroom move should be discussed individually rather than assumed from a birthday.
Settling in and moving forward
Agree on an arrival routine and how routine updates will reach you through Procare. Share comfort cues and any recent changes. As your child grows, discuss Transition or Primary placement with the team, considering readiness and available space. The next step should extend developing independence while maintaining support.
Attendance options: School-day schedules are 8:30 AM–2:30 PM; full-day schedules are 7:00 AM–6:00 PM for day-school programs. Days, placement, and availability are confirmed with your campus. Request tuition for the same schedule you intend to use.
