The Transition Program at Montessori School of Sugar Land is designed for children moving beyond the early toddler stage and preparing for the greater independence of Montessori Primary. Children strengthen language, practical life skills, coordination, social confidence and classroom routines through purposeful, age-appropriate experiences.
Children practice everyday routines, caring for materials, making appropriate choices and completing increasingly purposeful activities.
Conversation, vocabulary, stories and daily interactions help children express needs, ideas and experiences with growing confidence.
Fine- and gross-motor experiences help children refine balance, coordination and control of movement.
Children practice classroom routines, grace and courtesy, cooperation and respectful interaction with others.
Transition is intentionally positioned between the Toddler and Primary programs. The goal is not to rush children forward, but to provide the environment and experiences they need to become increasingly ready for the next level.
