Dear Families
Welcome to October at MSSL! Our Farm, Food & Harvest theme invites children to discover the connections between the natural world, the food we enjoy, and the care that helps living things grow.
October also brings opportunities to gather as a school community, from our Primary Class Field Trip to the joyful costumes and family participation of Trunk-or-Treat. Sienna families with elementary-aged children can also plan for Fall Break Camp. Please review the dates below and contact the school privately for participation details.

MSSL Student Trunk-or-Treat
On the morning of October 30, parent volunteers will decorate their car trunks in the parking area with spooky—but not scary—decorations. Children in costumes will parade through the closed, decorated parking area to trunk-or-treat and enjoy daytime Halloween fun with their friends!
Parent volunteers are a vital part of this event. Please contact the school privately to share how your family would like to participate and help make this year’s Trunk-or-Treat amazing.
Family Reminders
- Parking and curbside drop-offIf you are coming inside the school, please park your car in a designated parking space. Keep the curbside drop-off lane clear for families dropping off their children.
- School uniformsPlease have Primary students wear their school uniforms Monday through Thursday. For toddlers in T2 and T3, uniforms are preferred Monday through Thursday when a suitable size is available, but are not required.
- Label belongingsLabel your child’s clothing and personal belongings.
- Stay connectedCheck Procare for classroom updates and event information.
- Family recordsKeep emergency contacts and family contact information current.
From Harvest to Helping Hands
Invite your child to wash vegetables, sort seasonal produce, or help prepare a simple snack. Offer one manageable task, demonstrate it slowly, and give your child time to try independently.
Talk together about where the food came from and the people who helped it reach your table. These small moments build vocabulary, coordination, gratitude, and confidence.
