A clear place to begin

Understand your options. Find your child’s fit.

Funding matters, and so does the school experience it helps make possible. At MSSL, families can explore a classroom where children develop independence, concentration, language and mathematical understanding through meaningful work. Our team can explain the Sugar Land programs and attendance options while you review your child’s TEFA arrangements.

School participation, a child’s funding award and classroom availability are separate questions. Start with your child’s needs and the program you are considering, then confirm the practical details with our campus.

Confirmed participation: Sugar Land

This page covers MSSL at 4502 Austin Parkway. It does not represent TEFA approval for the Sienna campus. TEFA eligibility and eligible expenses must be confirmed for the individual child and program.

What TEFA means for your family

Education funding, with a plan behind it.

Start with the official account

Texas Education Freedom Accounts provide funding for eligible educational expenses. Your official parent portal is the place to check your award, current balance and program instructions. MSSL can discuss school information and eligible tuition arrangements; the school does not determine a family’s award.

Official TEFA family guidance →

Match funding to the actual program

Ask which charges relate to your child’s intended educational program, which documents or enrollment confirmation are needed, and whether any amount would remain your responsibility. Campus participation is not a promise that every age group, childcare arrangement or additional charge is covered.

Planning for an application?

As reviewed October 13, 2026, the official TEFA family page states that applications for the 2026–27 school year are closed. Use the official site for future application updates and your portal for an existing application or award.

The learning behind the choice

A Montessori beginning with academic purpose.

Our Montessori Primary program brings preschool, Pre-K and kindergarten learning together across ages three to six. Teachers introduce new work as children develop readiness, rather than expecting every child to move at the same pace. TEFA qualification is a separate determination; a classroom age range does not automatically establish funding eligibility.

Language and early reading

Conversation, vocabulary, sound awareness and purposeful work with letters help children connect spoken language with reading and writing. Repeated practice gives a child time to understand, remember and apply a new skill.

Math that becomes understanding

Concrete Montessori materials help children connect a number with a quantity, compare, recognize patterns and develop reasoning. The goal is a foundation a child can build on, with confidence in explaining and solving a problem.

Readiness for the classroom ahead

Practical life, concentration, self-care and social learning support academic growth. A low student-to-teacher ratio helps educators notice each child’s next step and offer guidance that fits that stage.

For children ready for the next stage, explore MSSL’s private kindergarten. On a tour, ask how your child’s independence, interests and current learning experiences inform placement and the work ahead.

Three useful next steps

Turn a funding question into a school plan.

1

Review your current position

Know whether you are researching a future application, waiting for a decision or already awarded. Check current instructions through the official TEFA site. You do not need to send account passwords, identification documents or financial records through a general website inquiry.

2

Speak with Sugar Land

Tell our team your child’s age, the program you are considering and your intended start. Ask about availability, the tuition schedule, eligible charges and the school information needed for your next step. Request the campus tuition guide to compare attendance options at your own pace.

3

Visit the environment

Meet our campus director, Lisa Deanda, explore the prepared classrooms and talk about your child’s routine. Look for how teachers guide children, how materials invite independent work and how the classroom supports language, math and self-care.

Preschool, Pre-K and kindergarten

Two kinds of readiness. Two separate conversations.

Readiness for a classroom

At MSSL, placement follows developmental readiness. A child may benefit from additional support with toileting, language, independence or familiar routines before moving into Primary. Discuss the classroom that will support your child’s successful beginning, rather than selecting a room from age alone.

Eligibility for TEFA

Pre-K has additional eligibility conditions in the official TEFA guidance. Being ready for preschool does not by itself establish eligibility for funding. Review the official criteria and ask the campus to clarify the school program you are considering.

Parents ask

TEFA questions, answered clearly.

Does MSSL accept TEFA in Sugar Land?

Yes. MSSL’s Sugar Land campus is TEFA approved. This page refers to the campus at 4502 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, TX 77479. Contact our team to confirm the eligible program, current availability and tuition arrangements for your child.

Does this approval include the Sienna campus?

The participation described here is for Sugar Land only. Do not assume it applies to Sienna. For questions about another campus, contact that campus directly for its current participation information.

Can TEFA be used for Montessori preschool or private kindergarten?

TEFA includes qualifying pre-K and kindergarten pathways, but the child and the educational expense must meet the applicable program requirements. A place in MSSL Primary, or being between ages three and six, does not by itself establish TEFA eligibility. Review the official guidance and ask Sugar Land about your child’s specific program.

Is TEFA approval a promise that all childcare costs are covered?

No. The school’s participation is separate from a child’s award, approved expenses and available balance. Infant care, other care arrangements and additional charges should not be assumed eligible simply because the campus participates. Ask for an itemized tuition explanation before making a funding plan.

Can I apply for TEFA through MSSL?

Families use the official Texas Education Freedom Accounts process. MSSL handles its own admissions and confirms school information where appropriate; the school does not decide a family’s TEFA award. The official family page currently says the 2026–27 application window is closed and provides updates for future opportunities.

What if I already have a TEFA award?

Check your current status and instructions in the official parent portal, then contact Sugar Land about your child’s intended program and start date. Ask which tuition charges may be eligible, what enrollment confirmation is needed and whether any balance would remain your responsibility. Share financial documents only through the appropriate private process.

Can we tour before we know our funding status?

Yes. A campus visit can help you understand the classrooms, readiness-based placement and school-day routine while you review your options. Select Sugar Land when booking. A tour or inquiry does not reserve a seat or create a TEFA award.

Where is the Sugar Land campus, and how do I get tuition information?

Visit 4502 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, TX 77479, or call 281-277-2702. The campus is open Monday–Friday, 7 AM–6 PM. Request the Sugar Land tuition guide through the tuition page for current program and attendance options, then speak with our team about your TEFA questions.
